September 27, 2006Sweden's KATATONIA has issued the following update:
"Due to problems with our visas for the North American tour [with MOONSPELL and DAYLIGHT DIES], we're unable to leave the country for the October 7 and 8 dates in Hungary and Serbia. We're sorry for the inconvenience. On a better note, the dates are not permanently cancelled. Both shows will be postponed and are most likely to take place in the coldness of December. More info to come when available."
As previously reported, Peaceville Records has bought rights to the masters of KATATONIA's back catalog previously released on Avantgarde Music and will remaster and reissue all the full-length albums in digipack format. First up on October 23 is "Brave Murder Day" (1996),also featuring the "Sounds of Decay" EP (1997) as a bonus, along with revamped artwork and liner notes from the band. Peaceville has also bought the rights to some of the KATATONIA members' sideprojects, including DIABOLICAL MASQUERADE and OCTOBER TIDE, with reissues to follow in the near future.
KATATONIA's video for the track "Deliberation" has been posted online at YouTube.com. The clip was shot and directed by Charlie Granberg, who also worked with the group on their "My Twin" video.
"Deliberation" is the second single from KATATONIA's new album, "The Great Cold Distance". The follow-up to 2003's "Viva Emptiness" was recorded at Fascination Street studios in the outskirts of Örebro, Sweden and was mastered at the Cutting Room in Stockholm.
